Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed and 10 Years are among the latest metal/hard rock artists to score newly awarded platinum/gold records from the RIAA for sales/streams in the United States. A platinum album in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units.

The sales certifications factor in digital streams into their awards with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.

Disturbed‘s 2015 cover of Simon And Garfunkel‘s “The Sound Of Silence” is first up, having been certified 3x multi-platinum on November 29th, 2017. It was last certified 2x multi-platinum on May 26th, 2017

Five Finger Death Punch‘s 2011 album “American Capitalist” went platinum on November 30th. It previously went gold on October 09th, 2012. It wasn’t the only accolade for the band to celebrate recently however, as that album’s 2013 follow-up, “The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, Volume 1“, also went platinum. It was certified on November 30th as well and last achieved gold status on March 03rd. 2015.

Meanwhile, December 06th saw 10 Years‘ 2005 album “The Autumn Effect” certified gold. The group toured in support of that album earlier this year as part of a belated 10th anniversary celebration.
