Howling Sycamore (Ex-Ephel Duath/Obscura, Etc.) Sign With Prosthetic, Stream “Upended”

Prosthetic Records have signed Howling Sycamore, a new project spearheaded by Davide Tiso of Ephel Duath/Gospel Of The Witches fame. Vocalist Jason McMaster (Watchtower/Dangerous Toys) and ex-Obscura drummer Hannes Grossmann join him in the venture. Tiso commented of the project:

Howling Sycamore was born from the stubborn idea of melting together different styles of heavy music into something powerful, sincere and with a strong identity. I wanted to mix extreme metal drumming, layered down-tuned guitars and old school prog metal singing. I’m so grateful that these amazing musicians helped shape the album into the beautiful weirdness that it became.”

Guest musicians on the outing include Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts/Dysrhythmia), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, etc.) and Fester (Burials). Prosthetic have set a January 26th release date for the group’s self-titled debut with pre-orders available here. A stream of their new song “Upended” can be found below:
