The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) have released a new round of album certifications with a handful of hard rock/metal artists being represented. Among the latest certifications are Halestorm‘s 2009 single “I Get Off” going gold. Meanwhile, Stone Sour‘s 2006 album “Come What(ever) May” has now officially gone platinum. The effort received a deluxe ten year anniversary release late last year which likely helped push it across the line. The album was officially certified platinum on July 21st, 2017 and previously certified gold on December 11th, 2006.

Guitar heroes DragonForce‘s 2006 album “Inhuman Rampage” was officially been certified gold on July 21st as well.  It’s their first album to go gold in the States, but not their first gold record as the album’s hit single, “Through The Fire And Flames“, was itself certified gold back on May 21st of 2008.

Meanwhile, A Day To Remember‘s single “If It Means A Lot To You” has now hit platinum. It was previously certified gold on February 21st, 2014 and appeared on the band’s 2009 album, “Homesick“, which itself went gold on March 24th, 2016.

Gold certifications mark 500,000 units sold in the United States, while platinum certifications signify 1,000,000 units. As of a few years back, the certifications also began to factor in digital streaming from authorized sources with 1,500 streams being considered a streaming equivalent album unit.
