Danzig‘s latest album “Black Laden Crown” didn’t have the greatest first week, moving only 6,475 copies in the United States. The album was Danzig‘s first proper full-length release since 2010’s “Deth Red Sabaoth“, which itself sold 11,700 copies in the U.S. during its first week. That said, “Black Laden Crown” did outperform Danzig‘s previous release, 2015’s covers album “Skeletons“. That effort debuted with 4,800 units sold in the U.S. during its first week.
One potential reason for the overall decline in sales could be Danzig‘s decision to largely retire from active touring since late 2015.
