Gregoletto responded to the tweet with the following tweets of his own:

Gregoletto was in part referencing Carlile‘s struggles with Marfan Syndrome, which in part led to his recent departure from Of Mice & Men—though Carlile seems to suggest his religious beliefs may have played a part in the split as well. Carlile soon deleted his initial tweet and went on what appeared to be a mini-meltdown, tweeting:
the earth is flat.
