Rollingstone.com report that a small amount of cocaine was found in the tour bus bedroom in which ex-Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland was found dead yesterday, December 03rd, in Bloomington, MN. Further searches of the bus by detectives revealed that Wildabouts bassist Tommy Black had cocaine in his area of the bus. He has since been arrested and is being held at the Bloomington Police Department on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Black‘s mugshot can be found over at TMZ.
TMZ reported earlier today of the drugs being found on the bus, with Weiland‘s wife Jamie denying that they were his, stating that he and his band members had made a pact to not do drugs. Weiland‘s initial cause of death has been determined to be a result of a cardiac arrest. It will take time for a coroner to establish if drugs directly played a role in it or not—though given his lengthy past history with substance abuse, they likely at least played some part, recent or otherwise.
