The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato was interviewed on TotalRock Radio and shared some interesting bits of info regarding The Dillinger Escape Plan and Killer Be Killed. Speaking of the latter supergroup—which features him, Max Cavalera (Soulfly,) Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and Dave Elitch (ex-The Mars Volta)—he mentioned that ex-Torche/current MonstrO guitarist Juan Montoya contributed some guitar parts to the album:
“We also had Juan Montoya from…, he used to be in Torche—I don’t know if you’re familiar with Torche—but this guy Juan Montoya who was in that band Torche; he came in and played some lead guitar, too, on a few tracks. Like just some weird feedback, noisey kinda Kim Thayill-type stuff.”
He also addressed the possibility of the outfit playing shows saying that the band hope to get together for some dates in the future. However, the logistics of getting all of the musicians together thus far has been troublesome. He remains confident that shows will take place sometime in the future however.
Killer Be Killed will have their self-titled debut released through Nuclear Blast Entertainment on May 13th.
On The Dillinger Escape Plan front he revealed that the group will be re-releasing their latest effort “One Of Us Is The Killer” with a variety of bonus material, including covers, bonus songs, demos, etc., stating:
“I know that we’re re-releasing the record with a bunch of bonus songs, some covers and some demos and that’s in the works.”
He also went on to speak of the groups impending “Happiness Is A Smile” limited edition single, adding:
“We wrote a new song and we didn’t feel like hanging on to it forever and adding it to a full-length. So we just said ‘fuck it’, this is really random, it never happens—like we only really write when we are planning on writing an album. So for us to have like a song done in the middle of a pre-existing album cycle is really abnormal for us, so we just went into the studio and recorded it and we’re just going to self-release it.”
