Cannibal Corpse Lining Up 25th Anniversary Plans, Ponder Big Four Of Death Metal Tour

Cannibal Corpse drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz promises that the band have some tricks up their sleeve for their coming 25th anniversary next year. He told that the band has:

“A couple of things that are in the works, but I’m probably not a liberty to say anything at this point. We’ve got a few things planned. Hopefully fans will enjoy what we’ve got lined up. We’ve definitely got to have something going; 25 years is a huge milestone for the band, so something will happen.”

When asked of how the band feel about hitting the coming milestone, he replied:

“Every day we look back and go, like, ‘What’s going on here? How’d this happen?’ We’re just kids from Buffalo that started playing some crazy music, and here we are touring the world, selling records. It’s really crazy to fully comprehend and grasp that this has been happening at all, let along for almost 25 years. We never thought this far into the future, you know? And now we look back and there’s a lot to look back on. We’re a household name, in a way. That’s crazy to me.”

While by no means official, he also stated that he would love to do a “big four” of death metal tour. When the idea was suggested to him by the aforementioned site, he offered:

“I think that would be pretty cool. I don’t know if it would ever happen. On paper, of course, it would be great for us, Morbid Angel, Deicide and Suffocation, something like that. That would be a brutal, brutal tour, a big celebration of bands that have been there since kind of the beginning — and are still going. It would be cool to do something like that.”
