Serj Tankian recently chatted with Altpress.com regarding the multitude of new projects he has in the works. According to Tankian, his Fucktronic project with Mindless Self Indulgence‘s Jimmy Urine may arrive in an unexpected format. Speaking on that, he offered:
“Fucktronic is a concept record, a British gangster movie soundtrack. We’ve got these animators we’re working with and there’s even interest from a high-tech interactive, video game/film company that may want to make it into a musical. So that’ll take way longer to distribute and put out correctly.”
When pressed about the possibility of new System Of A Down music he echoed previous sentiments, stating:
“I don’t think it could even be possible in the immediate future, but the option is always there. I think when the time is right and when everyone has this time and when everyone feels it is the right time to get together and do it again, we will.
So it’s not unforeseeable but it’s not foreseeable in the immediate future, just based on our commitments. But it has been awesome touring with the guys. We go out there and have a great time. The live shows were the best kind of way to reconnect, because they have all been fun and exciting. We went to South America for the first time. We had never been there, and it was like madness.
It has been a fun ride doing the System dates; we are going some more in August, we haven’t done the East Coast, so we are going to do two weeks of that in August and then back doing my own stuff, touring and whatnot.”
Tankian‘s new solo album “Harakiri” is slated to hit stores on July 10th.
