Slayer have posted a trailer for the 20 minute feature “Playing With Dolls” online, it can be seen below. “Playing With Dolls“, in addition to being a song featured on the bands new album, “World Painted Blood“, is a bonus video graphic novel that will appear on the DVD included in the Deluxe Edition of the aforementioned effort.
The soundtrack for the short film, which was directed by Mark Brooks (“Metalocalypse“), is comprised of all eleven songs featured on the album, as well as a non-album b-side dubbed “Atrocity Vendor“. According to the official press release, the “Playing With Dolls” featurette is described as follows:
“No mere music video, Playing with Dolls is a stark, 12-part nightmare that breathes corrupt life into Slayer’s latest syllabus of stalkers, psychopaths and serial killers, merging their aberrant psyches into the supremely focused desire of a single, merciless malcontent. A methodical distillation of one man’s lethal frenzy, the film follows the gruesome outbursts of a nameless protagonist. He is not an indiscriminate murder junkie, but rather a highly creative snuff-artist with a deeply personal sense of purpose – a man for whom murder is the only conceivable way forward. With a black heart hardened by tragedy, he chooses his victims carefully. His methods are as grisly and varied as they are poetic.”
“World Painted Blood” will land in stores in both standard and deluxe editions on November 03rd through American/Columbia.
