All of this (with the exception of Devin Townsend actually winning something) is trash.

It’s a matter of perspective, man. No award show is ever going to please you across the board unless you put it on in your basement. Compared to Revolver’s version, however, this works. Anytime they aren’t giving the Shredder award to Zoltan Bathory or other such nonsense is a win in my book. Can you see Revolve giving the Lifetime award to Michael Akerfeldt, or would it go to Fred Durst first and ten times after before they even considered it?

      • SpinSwimScream

I agree with you completely on this one. These kind of awards are mostly shit every year. However, I feel this one was somewhat better than some.

    • EyeOfEveryScorn

Except that Iron Maiden is and always will be the best band from the UK. The rest is garbage..yes.

  • Ketakid

Anyone else find it perplexing that “The Prodigy” was a nominee? A fan of em myself (well, fell off after 4th album), but find it really odd to see them in list. Best artist there.

  • STH5563

I really don’t disagree too much with the list. In my personal opinion, I would have awarded TesseracT with breakthrough over OM&M. Also, Best New Band I would have awarded to Northlane. I’m glad Devin Townsend got some recognition.
