A Life Once Lost: “We’ve Been At This Way Too Long To Ever Think It Is Acceptable To “Beg” For Money From Fans”
It looks as though it’s a safe bet that A Life Once Lost won’t be utilizing any fan-based fundraising platforms in the near future. In a Facebook post seemingly directed at yesterday’s fundraising campaign launched by This Or The Apocalypse; A Life Once Lost stated:
“aww – touring is so hard. Can people give us money too? We’ve been at this way too long to ever think it is acceptable to “beg” for money from fans to fund tours, vans or plane tickets. Get bent”

whenever i hear about this band all i can remember is when their guitarist kind of hit on my girlfriend. she told him “good show,” and he went in for a hug then he made weird kissing noises in her ear. all in all it was really odd and sort of funny.
Dougs a funny guy, im sure he meant nothing of it lol. If only their new album had good drumming.
100 percent with you on this one. Worst drumming I have heard on a record in a very long time. When I saw them, they played the entire new album, then asked the crowed if they wanted to here one of two old songs, as if the drummer could only play those two.
I would have punched the motherfucker in his throat. Standing on a stage doesn’t entitle you to be a cocksucker, even though I’m sure he’s pretty great at it.

These guys crashed on my brothers floor after a show in 2008 (2009?). Real down to earth, nice, polite dudes. They begged for nothing. And Doug was hittin’ on my sister. That’s just how the Snake rolls I guess.
Haha yeah they stayed at my place back in 2006 I believe, very cool dudes. Non-stop laughs.
Must be a trend with this band. My last girlfriend was a bar tender in Philly at a place these dudes would frequent. They hit on her too….. don’t blame them. She had big, spectacular titties.
I dig ALOL. I saw them play a couple times maybe like 5+ years ago and they kicked some serious ass. Their first few albums are pretty sick too, but I can never listen to them all the way through. The heavy songs are great, but they try to do this slower melodic shit sometimes that fails big time. It comes off like the soundtrack to a bunch of dudes that got way too stoned before they started recording anything. Not always the best result.
I’ll admit, I used to have this same mentality when all these other bands started using Kickstarter and other outlets for funding. That was just stupid. It’s a fucking brilliant idea if, in fact, all the funds are accounted for and not being spent on bullshit, like Protest The Hero has vowed to do.
With that said, the only reason A Life Once Lost are complaining is because they probably couldn’t even raise $10k because they are hardly a relevant band anymore and, most of all, they suck. ALOL, please don’t hate on other bands because they have fans that appreciate their output and are willing to “pre-pay” for their music because they have confidence in the band.
