Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach Talks New Album Progress

Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach recently discussed the bands progress with their next album in a new interview located here. Speaking on what is done thus far, Leach stated:

“We’ve got two songs completed for our new record and another 12-13 to go that I’m gonna finish up in the fall…”

When asked if ex-frontman Howard Jones had done any work on the album, prior to his own involvement, Leach stated:

“Thankfully no, thankfully it was just music; it had no lyrics, no vocals —Howard hadn’t attempted to do anything—so it was a nice, clean slate. Brand new record, fresh, fast, heavy… I couldn’t be more stoked to sing on the record.

As a matter of fact, once I signed up to do the audition for those guys, we chummed around, had beers and they took me back to Adam’s house and we listened to the record and that totally sold me. When I heard the record, I was like, ‘I’ve gotta sing on this.’”

Pretty keen to see how this turns out. KsE last album was a dud, whereas Times Of Grace was awesome.

As much of a “dud” the new self-titled was compared to the rest of the library, it still holds up way better than ToG. No lasting power at all.

In no way, shape or form was the new s/t album a dud. I’ll admit, it took me a long while to get into it but it’s a solid album from start to finish. Just have to listen to it loudly.

Compared to their other albums, it’s definitely the “dud” of the bunch.

I think “As Daylight Dies” was the dud of the bunch.
