I take this as a postmodern critique on our culture’s societal misalignment of priorities. The snake, or ‘Society’, is clearly and mistakenly focused on the gussied-up and scantily clad Sirens, (representing our immoral material urges), when it should be directing it’s attention to the wholesome meal of tasty chameleon, (as per our primal instinct of survival). A hammer lies by the wayside near the front of the cover, describing our loss of control over our own tools and our inability to recover it. Perhaps the ship sailing away in the background is Limp Bizkit’s way of saying ‘we are leaving this godforsaken culture, and forging a new path artistically’. Or, perhaps the only thing they contributed to the cover was the suggestion that a man be ogling a group of hotties while picking his nose. Either way, MOTHERFUCKING ALBUM OF THE YEAR!
