Nü-metal icons Limp Bizkit continue to win over new fans, as evidenced by their performance last night, October 11th, at The Truth in Nashville, TN. The group had a 13-year-old fan, Lathan, join them onstage for a performance of the “Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water” track “Full Nelson“.

Despite not even being born yet when that track came out, the young fan, who got offered to come up onstage after holding up a sign that said ‘I’m 13, Full Nelson’, delivered a commanding performance. As you can see in the below fan-filmed footage, he had clearly done his homework, adopting many of Fred Durst‘s mannerisms. Amusingly, ahead of launching into the song, Limp Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst playfully admonished Lathan’s father for introducing him to this kind of music.

With younger generations continuing to flock to nü-metal, earlier this year, Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland reflected on the band’s resurgence in recent years, declaring that they are, “the biggest we’ve ever been right now“. Limp Bizkit will be back onstage at the aforementioned newly opened venue tonight, October 12th.
