dredg Announce New Album Title

According to a posting on dredg‘s Facebook, the band have set “Chuckles & Mr. Squeezy” as the title to their new album which is now set for a May 03rd release in the U.S. (April 29th internationally.) The band plan to mount a world tour in support of the outing with details to follow.

For now, they offered up a new piece of promotional art here.

First, it’s produced by Dan the Automator, second it has this RIDICULOUS album title?! There’s no way this album can be any worse than what my expectations are right now.

  • will

@ Geor. are you a Head Automatica fan? Dan the Automator had a heavy hand in their first album and it rules.
I expect big things from this myself, but I heart dredg. however, the art work/ pic scares me alittle. I hope I don’t have bad dreams tonight.

  • ProtestedGyro

Color me stoked. So many good albums coming out in the next couple of months.

  • Geor

    @ will.

Man, I tried to like Head Automatica, but just couldn’t do it. I love Glassjaw, but know they’re an entirely different beast than Head Automatica.

I’m not saying I don’t like Dan the Automator, I just find his style to fit a particular mold and dredg does not fall into that. Either way, I’ll buy the album and will give it adequate listen, but as stated before, my it can’t be any worse than my current expectations, so I guess that’s a positive.

  • jayofdajungle

There’s no way that’s the real title

  • adamonfire

Maybe we found out who The Bunny and The Bear are…..

  • will

Geor bro, you said it. they are different beast all together.

  • will

    Gj and HA I mean

  • southpawchew

dude dredg does there thing and does it well no one tells them what to do if they wanna sound like shit then its there own will, i will buy a cd copy of this and probably love the fuck outta it, dredg is as bad ass as commenting on posts on the prp drunk fav dredg is the live cd and head automatica is fucking sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for 25 seconds then its lame lol

  • Kent Brockman

I’ve loved pretty much everything Dan the Automator has put out, with the exception of the second Handsome Boy Modelling School record. Being a long-time fan of dredg as well, and acknowledging that they do come from two very different camps, I will still be very interested on what they will put together. And you said it Will, that promo art is creepy as hell.

  • They Ate Their Macaroons in Silence

Damn, sluts! I am SO excited for 3 May! What a treat, too, that we don’t have to wait another 4 years between albums this time.

  • allichs

didn’t care for the last album that much, I hope this one will surprise me in a good way

  • They Ate Their Macaroons in Silence

& I think the album title kicks ass

  • Aggroculture

really hope it is better than Pariah, which took itself way too seriously and was sort of sub U2

  • ballsofmetal

I love this band. I was glad when i heard they left interscope and started their own label cause i figured the next record would be better then catch w/o arms (not to say it wasn’t good) and sure enough Pariah didn’t disappoint. Every album they put out so far has been good. They could call this record Pink floppy dicks and I’ll still buy it assuming it’s gonna be kick ass.

  • Kent Brockman

All in favour of dredg changing the name of their upcoming album to “Pink Floppy Dicks” say aye.

  • will

  • southpawchew

I’d like to go to the store and ask for pink floppy dicks, so aye

  • zomgpapi

    hell yeah!!!…..AYE!!

  • revstevo

    double aye

  • KamuiX

Only thing I care about is whether it’s better than the last album; compared to everything before it was a total letdown and way too self-indulgent.

  • jayofdajungle

Why make music if you’re not going to be self-indulgent, the only reason artists write anything is because they think it’s awesome, if other people get it, bonus.

  • dcthestar

I don’t mind if artists are indulgent but I do believe that a heavier editing hand was needed on Pariah. Such a tedious album to get through.
