I can’t wait for this!!!!
Deftones news! Let the 500 fucking posts (on what would otherwise be a rather mundane topic of conversation) commence!
OK, I’m going to further add to the madness. The most compelling part about this show for me is that our hometown heroes are playing a show in a venue (Memorial Auditorium) that hasn’t seen more than a handful of rock shows in nearly ten years. It’s a great mid-size venue, in the same vein as the Warfield or Filmore. Should be a fuckin’ killer show. Now I just need to figure out who Circa Survive is…
Circa Survive are a great choice of support. Great that the Deftones are mixing things up once again. They’re now Warner label mates. The bands first release ‘Juturna’ is a piece of melodic, experimental-rock gold. You may have to get use to the vocals though. You’ll either love them or hate them.
*’used’…I always forget the damn ‘d’.
Def… tones? Hm. Never heard of ‘em.
Deftones and Circa…my fav band and one of my other faves…has xmas come early this year!?
Fuck the Deftones
Fuck Circa Survive, Translating the Name EP is where it’s at
Fuck a bunch of that Circa Survive bullshit. More of you need to be talking about how much more awesome it is that they’re touring with Baroness. Kind of a strange match, but I’ll allow it.
C’mon Austin date before that Lubbock one
If the Deftones can tour with Mastodon on the Blackdiamondskye tour, then Baroness seems like a perfect follow-up.
If Sacto had Baroness instead of Circa Survive, it’d make this a must see. I can’t stand Circa Survive. From what I’ve heard, they release the same sounding shit over and over again, and I haven’t cared since Juturna. Baroness on the other hand would be the shit. Maybe Ghostride to open…
@mjclementz
The last show I saw at Memorial was Deftones back in 2003, and they cut their set in half because they hit curfew or some shit because fucking Death Angel played for like 2 goddamn hours.
Baroness and Deftones that sounds amazing, where are the Canadian dates though, BULLSHIT!
Yeah. It’s going to be great to have a good show at Memorial again. Sacramento concert going has sucked and one of the main reasons is because they cut Memorial down as a venue.
Although, I do agree, I would rather have Baroness at the Sac show.
I am also very happy to get see Deftones at Memorial again. I really wish Baroness was on the Sac show though, oh well. To the guy that said maybe Ghostride could open…well that would be awesome except Ghostride are no longer a band. Most of the members just went back to Will Haven. I’ve never heard Circa Survive but my friends and people on here say they suck so I’ll take that for what it’s worth. Haven’t seen Deftones up front for years now so this will be a good time.
@Brian895
Actually, Ghostride is supposedly working on a new album.

no NYC shows
which is fine I guess
they have terrible tourmates (Baroness are the most overrated band of the last 3 years, and Circa Survive . . . ugh. . . . .
. . . . .)
seeing them with Dir en grey was better
(and yeah, that’s saying a lot. . .)
Sept. 3rd. Sweet!
