It would appear that shared faith has reunited two members of Korn. The band’s estranged bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who has described his exit from the band as ‘retirement‘, was spotted hanging out with Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch at a recent Whosoevers event this week. This latest gathering from that Christian nonprofit collective also saw Sevendust‘s Clint Lowery in attendance, himself having also embraced Christianity as of late.
This past April, Welch was seen hanging out with Fieldy‘s musician son Israel Arvizu, who plays bass in the nü-metal outfit PlaYuH. Fieldy stepped down from Korn in 2021, with the lines of communication between himself and his former bandmates remaining severed for multiple years afterwards, according to Fieldy himself.
In an interview conducted this past spring, Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer reflected on the circumstances around Fieldy‘s exit from the band, stating Fieldy had kind of “checked out” ahead of his exit. Munky positing that band’s demanding schedule had seemingly taken a toll on Fieldy, while he was also dealing with some personal issues. In the past, Fieldy has also blamed the pandemic in causing him to reevaluate his role in the pioneering nü-metal outfit.
