Pingback: AXL’S THOUGHTS ON THE SECOND NIGHT OF THE JESSE LEACH/KSE MINI-REUNION | MetalSucks
Holy crap, the quality on some of these videos are amazing. I was really worried that they were going to be horrible, but some of these are too good! It’s a shame that most cameras can’t pick up the audio well enough though.
He did amazingly. His vocals are perfect not only on album, but live too.
While I do lean more towards Jesse’s vocals than Howard’s (not about to get into that debate), I’m happy with him being in The Empire Shall Fall because it’s amazing. Despite the fact that we didn’t get more of AOJB, if he didn’t leave we wouldn’t have everything he did with Seemless as well as him being vocals on TESF. Also despite the flak Howard gets, I still loved The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies. While the latest album fell flat, I still liked it. I also can’t wait for Times of Grace. Everything Leach touches turns to gold.
I’m a big fan of Jesse and Howard – and I loved Philswitch when I saw them in Dallas. People need to stop bitching so much and just enjoy it for what it is.
A lot of my boys are into Killswitch, I never really listened to anything by them enough to form an opinion, but again, some of my friends swear by them. Anyone who’s into the band tell me some tracks to check out and I’ll give them a proper listen, I’m talking the cream of the crop shit, I’ll report back later
I wish I had some boys. *sigh*
Anything from any of the albums except the latest one.
Darkness Falls, Rose of Sharyn, Holy Diver, and My Curse are popular ones. I think Howard’s vocals really shine on Let the Bridges Burn.
@Adamonfire
If that was to me, I’m not bitching at all.
Aww Surly!! I will be your boy.
@ jayofdajungle: The first three albums – self-titled, Alive Or Just Breathing, and The End Of Heartache – are all totally solid. For some early classics, check out Temple From The Within, Irreversal, In The Unblind, and pretty much the entire tracklist of the AOJB album. Old KsE is better, but give The End… a listen too. It functions as a worthy companion piece to Alive, before they started really mellowing out.
To bad it sounds like someone shitting into the microphone on the camera the entire time. Hopefully there is some professional footage/audio out there.
It’s a boy! I shall name him Aries Veil.
Listened to some tracks, first impressions, drummer better now, then when Adam was playing (he’s a waaaaay better guitarist), like Jesse better as a vocalist. That said, I’m tending to lean more towards newer Killswitch just because it’s closer to my taste of music (though I can see why some fans like the Jesse era better) This impression is only based on a small sample, I plan on listening to more. Standout tracks thus far: “When Darkness Falls, “Rose of Sharyn” (thanks Divinty), “Self Revolution” (Jesse’s screaming killlls) “Temple From Within”… more suggestions please… And Surly your my boy too SON!!! I’ve been saying boner time way too much, also gave you props on the glassjaw.net forum while discussing the new Deftones album, using “boner time” but giving you credit
Pretty sure everyone on here has listened to KSE long ago so we don’t really need to know your take. Thanks though
@Duggus, congrats on being a KSE lifer man!!!! I asked my PRP people for some tracks to listen to and they obliged. If I’m not mistaken the point of a forum is to give your OPINION on the various topics. Wook was nice enough to feature my first comment on “community service” allowing people to give their OPINION on what KSE tracks to listen to, (being that I’m not as versed in KSE as the almighty duggus is) and I in turn am giving my OPINION on the tracks suggested. I may be crazy, but when I try to turn a friend onto a band, or a movie, I am interested in what they think, and I believe the people who suggested tracks ARE interested in what I think of said tracks. Being that you contributed nothing to my asking for KSE tracks to listen to, my OPINIONS were not directed toward you. And in my OPINION, which is just that, you’re an arrogant, self-important dick. Thanks though
Sorry I hurt your feelings : )
@Divinity – I was referring to the people on the official KSE site who keep bitching about trying to get refunds for Philswitch – it was worth every penny.
