Lamb Of God manager Larry Mazer has confirmed today’s news that Randy Blythe‘s recently-doubled bail of $400,000 USD is once again being challenged by the prosecution. This latest turn of events of course puts the fate of the bands upcoming tour with Dethklok and Gojira at risk.
Speaking with WTVR.com, Mazer revealed that he didn’t have an exact estimate as to when Blythe will see a release; though he did say that he doesn’t expect it to be within the six days before the tours scheduled August 01st kick off. In turn, according to the article, an official statement regarding the fate of the tour will be made tomorrow, July 26th.
Blythe has remained in custody in Prague, Czech Republic for nearly a month on suspicion of manslaughter. The potential charges stem from the fatal injuries suffered by a 19 year old fan who attended a 2010 show the group played in Prague. The fan repeatedly took to the stage and had numerous interactions with Blythe (and security guards,) most of which were captured on film.
Thus far the prosecution in the case has repeatedly blocked Blythe‘s attempts at bail. This latest challenge appears to be the final complaint they are able to file against Blythe‘s release. They will be granted a few days to to provide enough new evidence to convince the court to have Blythe remanded in custody or he will be let out on bail. A final decision on the matter will likely be made sometime next week.
