Yet another new track from Anthrax‘s long-overdue new album has arrived. The East Coast thrash metal pillars have just shared the below music video for their song “Everybody’s Got A Plan” —a whose track alludes to a quote made famous by boxing legend Mike Tyson.
That clip features footage from a set the played with Iron Maiden in Lisbon, Portugal on July 07th of this year. This song marks the third track to make it out from the band’s upcoming first new album in a decade, “Cursum Perficio“. That record in headed for a September 18th release.
Speaking of this new single and it’s oft-quoted title, the band’s drummer Charlie Benante went on to say:
“‘Everybody’s Got a Plan‘ has always been one of my favorite songs on ‘Cursum Perficio‘. The video basically shows the band on and off stage in a montage of video clips that kinda matches the velocity of the song. The line ‘Everybody’s Got A Plan until they get punched in the face’ is such a great line, and so true!”
His bandmate, guitarist Scott Ian went on to add:
“We wanted to capture us having fun on tour and what better way to do that? That was a plan that didn’t end up with a punch in the face! Have fun watching my friends!”
The group will once again be out with Maiden this year, having been announced as the openers on a number of stops the British heavy metal legend’s summer North American tour with finds Megadeth as direct support.
