Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo has addressed some initial controversy that has arrived ahead of tonight’s (June 18th) planned debut of their new single “Bullshit“. According to Shomo, the designer they hired to create the lyric video for that track used AI in it against the band’s wishes. As a result, the video was flagged upon upload.
Shomo claims that the designer in question lied about not using AI ahead of time. In turn, Shomo and his brother plan to create a new lyric video themselves today. Shomo said this afternoon of the situation, June 18th:
“Hello all you lovely people
We posted a teaser this morning for a new song that was flagged for Al.The artist we commissioned for this project assured us adamantly throughout the process that no Al was used to create this lyric video.
Unfortunately after a lot of red flags and conversations this morning, we now know for a fact that was not the case.
We have no interest in using Al or artists lying about using Al to try to translate the blood sweat and tears that were put into this album in any way shape or form.
My brother luke who worked tirelessly on the album art will again work tirelessly tonight to whip up a lyric video we’re all proud of and stand behind because he’s really badass.
The song will be posted as scheduled.

Beartooth‘s new album “Pure Ecstasy” is headed for an August 28th release date. While two singles have been released from it thus far, much of the discussion regarding the platinum-certified melodic metalcore band as of late has centered around Caleb‘s decision to now live his life as a “proudly gay man”.
