Former The Amity Affliction bassist/vocalist Ahren Stringer found himself before the court earlier this month . Per Blunt, Stringer appeared in Benalla Magistrates’ Court this past Tuesday, April 21st to face five charges, including:

  • Drive at a speed dangerous
  • Exceed speet limit by 45 km/h or more
  • Refuse prelminary breath test
  • Refuse to undergo preliminary oral fluid test
  • Use vehicle no in a safe or woradworthy condition

Citing court records, Blunt stated that the charges stem from an incident which occurred in the Benalla, Australia region last year. Thus far no plea has been entered amid these initial hearings, with the matter being adjourned to May 26th.

Stringer was reportedly ousted from The Amity affliction in February of 2025, with legal action soon on his part soon following. Stringer would go on to launch a new project dubbed Self Checkout in May of 2025 alongside Gus Farias (ex-Volumes. The aforementioned pair would use the band as an outlet for their struggles with mental health and addiction over the years. In September of last year, several months after launching that band, Stringer was hospitalized for a serious and unexpected emergency.

The Amity Affliction and Stringer have went their separate ways creatively, with the band recently issuing their first album without him, “House Of Cards“. However, it would seem the complicated nature of their business ties and the financial situation of the band have yet to see the two parties have a clean break of each other yet.
