Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction have now officially addressed the recent departure of their drummer Joe Longobardi. The latter issued a statement regarding his decision to exit on June 24th. Now, his former bandmates in the aforementioned outfit have responded with a video tribute to him and an accompanying statement of their own. The band also indicated that Longobardi is set to begin a new chapter as a father. Issued overnight, that statement from The Amity Affliction reads as follows:
“While we’re sad to see Joe go, we are super happy for him to start this next chapter of his life as a father and wish him all the best. Knowing how exceptional he is at drums we’re certain this is just the beginning of a new journey for him, and we look forward to seeing him when we’re stateside again, big love.
‘After 8 years I have decided to leave The Amity Affliction. I feel extremely grateful and fortunate to have spent those years with the band. I wish Johnny, Dan and Joel along with the crew nothing but the very best moving forward. It’s been an incredible journey. Thank you all for the love. See you out there.'”
