If their plans hold up, Baroness will be hitting the studio around mid-July to begin recording their seventh studio album. Word of the sludge metal band’s next move comes via guitarist/vocalist Gina Gleason, who recently told Guitar World the following of what they have in store:
“The past year we’ve been touring the Red and Blue records. I’m a huge fan of those records, especially Blue. We’ve also been working on new music for the better part of a year and a half. The challenge now is whittling it down and finding the identity of the album, before going into the studio around July.”
In the same chat, Gleason also spoke a bit about her new side project Ecliptor, who have a debut album in the works. Despite just making their live debut earlier this y ear, according to Gleason, that project have been gestating for roughly two years now. Release details for both of the above-mentioned albums are currently pending.
