Sharon Osbourne has shared some further plans for the 2027 relaunch of the once-annual ‘Ozzfest‘. Per a new appearance on her and her family’s ‘The Osbournes‘ podcast, the resurrection of that metal and hard rock festival next year will see two dates staged at the Aston Villa Football Club in Birmingham, UK, with additional dates to follow in America.
The Aston Villa Football Club served as the venue for last year’s ‘Back To The Beginning‘, the final live sendoff for Sharon‘s late husband Ozzy Osbourne, as well as the pioneering heavy metal band he fronted, Black Sabbath. An all-star tribute featuring members of Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool and more also took place at that event.
Sharon said of the tentative plans for next year’s comeback:
“We wanna do two days in Aston Villa and then come to America. And we wanna hear from everyone where we should go in America. And also we’ve gotta find a lot of young, new talent, because that’s what [Ozzy] would want.”
Sharon, who founded the festival alongside Ozzy in the mid-90s, indicated last December that she had been in talks with promoter Live Nation about resurrecting the fest, which was last staged as a destination festival in Inglewood, CA back in 2018.
