Avenged Sevenfold, etc. drummer Brooks Wackerman appears in the latest episode of Drumeo‘s prolific ‘For The First Time’ series of videos. The concept behind that series finds a drummer being tasked with coming up with their own parts to a song they’ve never heard before. Upping the ante, the drums have been removed from the version of the song they are newly introduced to.
Wackerman was tasked with putting his own stamp on “Pisces“, a 2016 single from Ukrainian progressive metalcore outfit Jinjer. Below you can see how he did and his reaction to the original version of the song below. As referenced in the video, he’s not the first of the Wackerman clan to face such a daunting task, as his brother Chad took on a The Mars Volta song earlier this year.
