Shiner‘s new studio album “BELIEVEYOUME” has been lined up for a September 26th release date. The Kansas City, MO post-hardcore band have chosen to peel off the track “Asleep In The Trunk” ahead of time, streaming that new cut below. The title of the record is said to refer to, “the ambiguity and contradictions at the heart of human connection.” Vocalist/guitarist Alan Epley added:
“It’s one of those phrases that’s tossed around so much it’s lost its meaning. But when you step back and think about it, it can mean so many things in the context of a relationship. It could be about believing in yourself, in the other person, or in the relationship as a whole, or it could be about the loss of belief.”
Epley has also relayed that the first single is about a deteriorating relationship. Addressing what to expect on the album, guitarist Josh Newton shared:
“This new record feels more open and more immediate. We came in with fewer pre-written ideas and just reacted to each other in real time. Less brooding, more instinct. Still heavy, still weird — just breathing a little more.”
Recording sessions for the effort primarily took place at bassist Paul Malinowski’s Massive Sound Studio, with assistance from Spotlights‘ Mario Quintero, who also mixed the effort.
