Shiner‘s latest rarity to meet a new online release is a freshly remastered version of “Two Black Eyes“. That song is part of their upcoming remastered rarities set, “The Y Section“, which compiles various b-sides and more from the post-hardcore band’s lengthy career. Spartan Records have slated an October 09th release date for that. As for the background on this track, the group went on to state:
“Originally released as an addendum to DeSoto Records’ reissue of ‘Lula Divinia‘, ‘Two Black Eyes‘ was recorded in 1998 during the writing and demo sessions for ‘Starless.’ The song became something of a blueprint for where Shiner was headed next – big grooves, strange turns, and maybe one section too many.
In fact, that tendency to add the mysterious, probably unnecessary ‘Y Section” is where the title of our forthcoming rarities collection comes from.”
Additionally, a digital deluxe edition of their latest album “BELIEVEYOUME” is on course for a September 18th release date via Spartan Records. Two previously physically exclusive bonus tracks will be included on it, one of which, “Captured By Death“, can be heard below. Immediate touring plans for the band include the following shows:
