Slipknot bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella is the latest member of the Iowan masked metal outfit to hit the stage with an udpated mask. While 2024 saw the band overhaul their stage attire to fall in line with the 25th anniversary celebrations for their 1999 self-titled debut album, there’s been a few tweaks made in the mask department since.
Yesterday, July 19th, saw the multi-platinum outfit close out the second night of the annual ‘Inkcarceration Festival‘ in Mansfield, OH, with Venturella sporting the apparent new creation you see above (and in the below footage.) It also seems as though that mask may feature some updated layering that finds elements being peeled away, revealing the more traditional ridged mask design Vman has been known to sport. Additional shots of the mask are available on his Instagram.
Despite uncooperatively wet weather, Slipknot powered through the 14-song set, though like their recent European touring, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan was once again absent. He was previously listed as being off the road on that above-mentioned overseas run to tend to a family emergency.
