There Appears To Be A New Mask Or Two In Slipknot

A few members of multi-platinum Iowan masked metallers Slipknot appear to have updated their masks for their 2025 touring. Fans have noticed that both guitarist Jim Root and DJ Sid Wilson have both been sporting updated attire as the 25th anniversary celebrations for the band’s 1999 self-titled breakthrough album have wound down.

Vocalist Corey Taylor appears to have also done away with a minor alteration made last year: the glowing red eyes he had installed on his mask. Slipknot just returned to the stage for the first time this year as part of their ongoing ‘Knotfest Australia‘ tour, which will also result in some headlining shows. The recent tour opener in Melbourne saw the group perform “Gematria (The Killing Name)” for the first time. Better footage of that live debut can now be seen below.

The band have been thus far undertaking this run without their percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, who is back at home due to a “family emergency.”
