Archspire‘s decision to go independent and launch this Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the release of their upcoming new album was an astounding success. The Canadian technical death metal group quickly blew past their original goal of $174,000 CAD and as of press time are sitting at $286,525.
The funds being raised via that campaign have been earmarked to cover a wide range expenses related to album and its eventual release, including studio time, travel, merchandise and more. In a bid to be transparent, the group also included a detailed budget of where the money will be spent via the campaign page mentioned above.
