A ‘lost’ 1976 album from heavy metal/hard rock legends Motörhead will be receiving a June 27th release. That effort was captured at Manticore Studio in Fullham, London back during the band’s ‘Three Amigos’ era, which included vocalist/bassist Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor.
While technically rehearsal sessions, the material captured here marked the first-time that lineup had laid down songs together. Cameron Webb was tasked with restoring the material from the original sessions, which will now be released as “The Manticore Tapes” in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary.
