While most bands are lucky enough to get a billboard or a quick ad in Times Square to promote their new album, multi-platinum occult rockers Ghost have utilized their promotional budget for a more tangible purpose. The Swedish outfit have taken to celebrating their Billboard 200 topping new album “Skeletá“ by taking over several newsstands in New York, Beverly Hills and more.
As you can see in the below gallery, ample copies of the band’s recent cover stories in print magazines and accompanying signage have flooded the shelves of several newsstands and delis in honor the band’s aforementioned first #1 album in the United States. With much of “Skeletá” steeped in a decidedly 80s hard rock and metal aesthetic, the band have gone to great lengths to present the record to the public in a way befitting of that era.
In addition to barring smartphones from their ongoing world tour, the group dredged up nostalgia in coordinating an in-persona album launch across numerous stores. In a further step down that rabbit hole, the band’s camp went so far as recreating their own recurring MTV-styled tour report segments for this album touring cycle.
