It’s been a quiet few years for The Faceless and their co-founder Michael Keene. That Californian progressive technical death metal outfit have essentially been on the shelf since 2022. While the group showed promise across several albums, erratic behavior and lineup volatility has certainly played against them over the years.
Vocalist/guitarist Michael Keene‘s much publicized struggles with drug addiction over the years have perhaps been the crux of that instability, but as he revealed back in 2022, he was also dealing with a neurological disorder.
Yesterday, December 26th, Keene broke his relative silence on social media to share an update on what he’s been up to lately, posting the following in the comments of the below post about his hairstyle:
“Alright boys. Settle down now. I am currently writing and recording new music after taking some much needed time off. So now that we have that cleared up, we can focus on my question. If you’re a dude, you’re welcome to answer, but just know it wasn’t my target demographic on this particular post. Hearts and kisses ♥️ “
It is not clear if Keene is working on material for The Faceless, or possibly even the Slaves And Masters solo project he announced back in 2018.
