New material from The Faceless appears to be looming, according to a new post shared by the progressive technical death metal band on their Facebook. That post was made today, June 11th, and reads:
“Hello! We are officially working on new music. I have a simple favor to ask of you. Please go to Spotify and make sure you follow us to get all future notifications. If you can do that for us, we’ll be releasing singles in the near future as well as some other news! This is a small thing that helps us immensely. Thank you in advance!”
The group have been absent for several years now, but a post shared this past April by guitarist Andrew Virrueta (also of Ingested, etc.) confirmed that demoing was underway for new tracks. The last new music from the band to arrive landed online back in 2017.
Much of The Faceless‘ career has been derailed by lineup volatility and band mastermind Michael Keene‘s struggles with addiction and a neurological disorder. Vocalist James Dorton is expected to once again front the band on this new material, though official word on his role doesn’t appear to have come down on that just yet.
