Masked British alternative metal outfit Sleep Token‘s continued breakout success has just netted them their first gold single in the United States. “The Summoning“, which was launched in January of 2023 as the second single from the group’s third studio album “Take Me Back To Eden“, has newly been certified by the RIAA for its streaming/sales performance.
“The Summoning” was one of several advance tracks from the that album to benefit from viral success, skyrocketing up numerous charts, while also establishing the group as a headlining artist capable of filling out arenas on their own.
With a record deal with RCA having been inked this past February, and rumblings of the band’s next era unfolding in 2025, it doesn’t seem like a stretch that this award may be the but the first of more yet to come.
Sleep Token‘s biggest live test yet will take place next June, when they serve as a first-time headliner at the annual flagship ‘Download Festival‘ in the UK.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
