Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have built up a prolific and highly acclaimed career in composing and scoring outside of their aforementioned Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted industrial metal band. Thus far, their compositions for the likes of ‘The Social Network‘, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘, ‘Soul‘ and ‘Watchmen‘ have racked them up a collection of Oscars, Grammys and an Emmy.
Among the pair’s latest work is the score for the Daniel Craig-starring ‘Queer“. During a press junket for the film, the aforementioned duo were asked about their own personal favorite films by Letterboxd.
It would seem that the duo function on a similar wavelength to an extent, with both expressing their admiration for the gritty drama ‘Taxi Driver‘ and the psychological thriller ‘Blue Velvet‘. Their tastes diverged from there however, with Reznor opting for the more horror/psychological thriller films in ‘Dead Ringers‘ and the surprisingly modern choice of ‘Titane‘.
Ross however, snuck in a curveball with the hit 80s buddy cop movie ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘ and the tragic romance film ‘Betty Blue‘. Reznor & Ross‘ next high-profile project is their upcoming score for ‘Tron: Ares‘. In a welcome move for fans of the duo’s industrial ventures, that score is being composed under the banner of Nine Inch Nails.
