Oceano have found themselves under fire for signing on for the upcoming ‘America’s Rejects Tour‘. That bill features Attila in the headlining spot, along with Dealer and Nathan James. The involvement of Dealer in the trek has proven the most controversial, given the allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct that have cropped up against the band’s vocalist Aidan Ellaz Holmes in the past.
The abuse allegations were put forth by his ex-Dealer bandmates back in 2020. Holmes and his then band Alpha Wolf also parted ways back in February of 2018 in light of the allegations of sexual misconduct made against him. While charges were reportedly filed, it’s been said that they were later dropped due to a lack of prosecutable evidence.
The announcement of the tour earlier this week was met with some fierce backlash, with Alpha Wolf bassist/vocalist John Arnold seemingly labeling the run the ‘rapist abuser tour.’ Fit For A King bassist/vocalist Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary also took a shot at the trek, stating on social media, “I wonder if Dealer will participate in Fronz’s only fans? Might be too consensual for Aidan.”
The Fronz in question would be Attila vocalist Chris Fronzak, who in 2020 faced sexual misconduct allegations of his own, which he denied. Attila also fired their drummer Bryan McClure that same year following allegations of rape and sexual misconduct.
Texas DIY record label ds/fp records took to calling out Oceano vocalist Adam Warren on X this week over the band taking the tour, telling him, “@AdamOnEarth_ is that you have a massive platform in a booming deathcore world that could be taking any of the multiple hundreds of artists on successful tours and make a massive bag but y’all signed onto a tour where people need to cover their drinks and watch out.”
Adam replied directly with:
“The best thing is someone with my standards IS on ANY tour these days. No one no matter their social status should be trusted. A man should be judged by their character and how they treat others. If anything bad is going on, with my platform, you’ll be the first to know about it. I don’t keep up with internet stuff like that these days. Just know Im pretty busy with family and work.
P.S when you speak of opportunity, ask every merch designer, every band from our headline tour, the local bands we play with, every past band member since I joined, every tour crew member; ask them who have them those opportunities…and then ask yourself How many Job opportunities does YOUR business offer in a month? Hope to see you at a show!”
This led the ds/fp account to reply back, “man what the hell kind of dismissive response is this. Not keeping up with internet stuff is a crazy thing to say when you sign on a tour package w members who have legal cases. If you checked your messages you would have seen the multiple free services I’ve offered you for years”
Warren responded with:
“What’s dismissive about it? I don’t represent any other person. I will ALWAYS while on tour not stand for anything bad happening to anyone. Though I am not focused on anyone’s life but my own, and I have my own life outside of music and the Internet stuff. So I will be on watch when it’s time for tour. I want concerts to always be a safe place. As a man of God and someone who serves others in light You have my word. Much love!”
This led another X user by the name of Sevro to comment, telling Warren. “Religious people always find a way to be dismissive about this sort of stuff lmao. Just own up to the fact that you’re fine putting aside your ethics for a buck holy shit. Super disappointing”
Warren replied back with:
“How are my ethics put aside when I’m not involved in any thing you’re referring to? I think your disappointment is misguided.
Also believing in MY God is believing in self. Dont insult which you don’t understand. Religion is different.”
