Bad Omens have added another gold single to their growing collection of industry awards. The viral success of the band’s 2022 track “Just Pretend” catapulted the alternative metal outfit to headliner status on the back of their third studio album “The Death Of Peace Of Mind“. That record continues to pay dividends, with its lead single “Like A Villain” having newly been certified gold in the United States by the RIAA.
“Just Pretend” was the first track to bring home hardware from the record, having gone gold in July of 2023 and then platinum in April of this year. The album’s title track also racked up a gold certification this past January.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
