A GoFundMe has been launched to raise funds for Sick Of It All vocalist Lou Koller. The veteran NYHC musician publicly announced yesterday, June 28th, that he has been diagnosed with a tumor on his esophagus. In light of the matter, the band scrapped their planned summer touring.
Now his brother, and Sick Of It All bandmate, Pete Koller, has launched this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of Lou‘s treatment and associated downtime for recovery. As of press time, the hardcore community have come out in droves to donate, already raising over $105,000 USD in less than 24 hours. Among those to contribute were AFI, who hold the top donation with $5,000 given to the cause. Pete said of the crowdfunding campaign and his brother’s condition:
“Hi I’m Pete my big brother Lou He has been Diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer. He has a cancerous tumor in his esophagus. We Sick of It All Have canceled the rest of the year of touring and will not be Is touring until Lou beats this and recovered.
As you know touring is the lifeline for a band like sick of it all.
