Spotlights launched this GoFundMe to keep the wheels turning on their current overseas tour today, June 14th. The post-rock outfit’s van was broken into while in Manchester, UK. In a positive turn of events, over $10,000 was quickly raised, with new donations no longer being fielded as of press time.
The group collectively stated of the theft:
“Hi Everyone,
Never thought we would have to do this, but unfortunately our van was broken into during our show in Manchester, UK.
We’re extremely lucky that we had all of our equipment with us at the time but Chris, our sound engineer Terence, and our driver/merch Ian all had their luggage stolen. There were laptops, iPads and all their clothes and personal belongings in there.
On top of that we have to pay a hefty deductible to the rental company for insurance.
Were hoping this doesn’t interfere with any shows and we are able to continue on to finish the EU portion of this tour. Our first priority is getting clothes and toiletries for the ones who lost them.
If you are able to help, we’ll be eternally grateful. We’ll try to make it up to you by keeping this machine running as long as it can.
