According to organizers for the annual ‘Blue Ridge Rock Festival‘, tickets are in fact not on sale for a potential 2024 edition of the festival. This Etix listing, which is linked to via the festival’s official website, blueridgerockfest.com via a panel that advertises a ‘2024 presale’, has been attributed to being related to an out-of-date website that was published before last year’s edition of the festival fell apart.
A report from WDBJ notes that the festival’s executive producer Cara Fischer issued the following statement on the matter:
“Tickets for 2024 are not currently on sale and have not been for several months while we work to provide a resolution to 2023 fans. The Festival follows the lead and direction of multiple distinguished insurance law firms and a public adjuster concerning public statements. As much as doing so has crippled us publicly, we have been informed that we have acted by the book in accordance with the event’s insurance policy and anticipate a positive resolution soon. Please know that we are committed to delivering a great experience for our fans and supported in 2024 and beyond.”
That same report notes that the festival’s organizers had however been booking bands for a planned festival this year, though as of March 13th, the Halifax County Administrator had received no word of potential plans for the festival.
Meanwhile, WDBJ also reveal that organizers for the festival have just recently settled one of three lawsuits they are facing. This suit was in relation to the 2022 edition of the festival and finds the festival’s organizers agreeing to pay Sunbelt Rentals $669,092.81, after coming up delinquent on their the rental costs for the 2022 edition of the festival.
Last year’s ‘Blue Ridge Rock Festival‘ was partially cancelled amid inclement weather, however, further reports from individuals who worked at the festival claimed logistical mismanagement, general disorder backstage, unfavorable working conditions and a potential strike from staff as having played a part in the event being called off.
While concertgoers affected by the cancelation still await refunds for the 2023 edition, the festival’s organizers claim their hands are currently tied as they await the resolution of their insurance claim on the event, which restricts public announcements on the matter.
