Apparently authentic footage of the aftermath of a car accident has recently gone viral online, but not just for the carnage it depicts. Rather it’s the irony of the situation, as the stereo in one of the vehicles totaled in the multi-car crash is seen blaring “Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away)“—the second single from Deftones‘ platinum-certified 1997 album “Around The Fur“.
There’s little in the way of details about the severity of the crash and the potential injuries sustained in it. Considering that the band’s beloved bassist/vocalist Chi Cheng ultimately perished from severe injuries he sustained in a 2008 car crash, this footage almost hits a bit too close to home. Since his passing, his family has been championing for seatbelt awareness.
