Glam metal legends Mötley Crüe have newly landed a plethora of platinum and gold certifications in the United States. These album and single certifications were handed down today, October 01st, by the RIAA. Of course, it’s not necessarily the band that will directly benefit from this latest round of certifications however, as the group sold the rights to their entire catalog to BMG back in 2021 in a deal estimated to be valued around $150 million.

The newest round of certifications handed down to Mötley Crüe are listed below. Notably the band’s fifth studio album “Dr. Feelgood” is closing in on potentially becoming their first diamond-certified album, having just landed a 9x certification. A diamond certification signifies 10x platinum status in the United States. Now, on to the certifications.

Album:

“Dr. Feelgood” (9x platinum)

Singles:

“Kickstart My Heart” (2x platinum)
“Dr. Feelgood” (platinum)
“Home Sweet Home” (platinum)
“Girls, Girls Girls” (platinum)
“Live Wire” (gold)
“Wild Side” (gold)
“Shout At The Devil” (gold)
“Looks That Kills” (gold)

“Kickstart My Heart” also hit another significant milestone earlier this year, hitting 1 billion plays on Spotify alone this past August.

*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
