Bring Me The Horizon have said much in the press about distancing themselves from their deathcore and metal roots. The lingering controversy over their choices reached a fever pitch earlier this year as they took even further strides away from their origins on their latest album “Amo“.
Speaking recently with NME at last weekend’s ‘Glastonbury Festival‘ the band’s keyboardist, vocalist, etc. Jordan Fish commented on whether or not they feel the need to fly the flag for the metal genre at non-metal/rock oriented festivals. Replying to that, he stated:
“We’re not really a metal band as such. We’re kind of ‘false metal’. So I don’t think we’re… We’re not really accepted by the metal community I don’t reckon so we’re just kind of doing our own thing I think.”
