The latest wave of RIAA certifications has found Slipknot scoring three new platinum singles in the United States. All three singles were certified both gold and platinum on March 18th and include “Wait And Bleed” off their 2x multi-platinum 1999 self-titled album, “Before I Forget” off their platinum certified 2003 record “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” and “Snuff” from their platinum selling 2008 release “All Hope Is Gone“.
A platinum album in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
Slipknot currently have an August 09th release date slated for their forthcoming new studio album.
