Thus far each new album cycle has seen Ghost ‘retire’ their frontman Papa Emeritus for a new incarnation. With the band wrapping up the “Meliora“/”Popestar” cycle last night (September 30th) with a show in Gothenburg, SWE, it would appear that we’ve seen the last of Papa Emeritus III, as you can see in the below footage:
A translation of what was said from Italian reads:
“I am Papa Emeritus Zero. The party is over. The Middle Ages are starting now.”
Ghost have been in the studio in recent weeks working on their new full-length album.
