Underoath guitarist Tim McTague is looking for some financial aid for his ailing father, who is currently racking up medical bills while battling cancer. Tim commented:

“After 5 months of battling cancer, chemo, and a massive surgery, my family is left with a massive financial burden and we need your help.
Earlier this year my dad was diagnosed with a severely and rapidly growing bladder cancer. Forced to quit his job and undergo a massive surgery without the ability for severence or unemployment, my family’s immediate future is in the balance. After racking up deductibles, non-covered expeneses and so on, my father underwent a massive surgery. The surgery is over, and so far all scans are coming back clear. The physical battle is over, but the financial one is just beginning.

My parents still have two children living at home and my dad, Gary, is unable to even drive for a few months, let alone work. Being a private contractor, he isn’t covered by any unemployment benefits that exist and is left to go this road alone. A lot of people get cancer, and a lot of people need help. I don’t claim to have a once in a lifetime case here, but I AM blessed to know that I have been fortunate enough to touch a lot of people’s lives through the music that my dad and mom allowed me to pursue in Underoath. That band, as it currently exists, wouldn’t have been able to exist without my parents, and their support. We wrote albums in their living room, and were given unlimited support to go pursue what would later become Underoath as a lot of people know it.

I want to give back, and moreover return the favor to two people that have played a massive yet unidentified role in what we did. My parents gave everything for me, and I hope that a lot of people can give a little to give everything to them in their time of need. Thanks for reading, and thanks for considering to support this campaign. If you don’t support this one, go support someone close to you that needs help.

Thanks,

Tim / Underoath

If you’d like to help out, you can do so over at here. Underoath themselves will return to the road next year for ‘The Rebirth Tour‘.
