Slayer‘s Kerry King sat down with Loudwire to discuss the bands new album and spoke of various aspects of it. King again confirmed that the album versions of “When The Stillness Comes” and “Implode” and “Atrocity Vendor” have all been reworked from their previously released versions. He also spoke highly of returning drummer Paul Bostaph:
“I used to say “God Hates [Us All]” was his “Reign In Blood“, Bostaph‘s. The new one is his “Reign In Blood“.”
When asked if any curveballs will be thrown on the album, King replied:
“In my opnion I’d say no, I think every record, 2 or 3 records, we throw something in their that adds to the menagiere of what you call a Slayer record. And you know it kind of evolves with you and moves on. I think this one is just the next page. I don’t think there’s… There’s certainly no left turns, it’s just heavy, fast, moody, spooky…”
King also again spoke of the six or so song ideas they have for a potential next album following this one as well. With a title for the effort yet to be revealed, Slayer are moving ahead with an August release date for the album through their new as-yet unnamed Nuclear Blast Entertainment imprint label.
